He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Meshell and Evelyn Meshell (Sepulvado); and his siblings, James, Dewitt Meshell, Sammy Meshell, Wayne Meshell and Mary Jane Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Meshell (Laroux); his children, Keith Meshell, Rhonda Carrasco (Eddie), Regina Bledsoe (Richard) and Mark Meshell (Jessica); his sister Belva Jean Meshell-LeBlanc (Leroy); and his grandchildren, Steven Meshell, Ethan Meshell, Mea Carrasco, Ava Meshell, Sophia Bledsoe and Emma Meshell.
