He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Gerald Sturm; his sister Terry Sturm; his wife Sharon Sturm; his mother Mary Sturm; his siblings, Kathy Esqueda (Joe), Barb Magill (Thad), Mary Nishikawa (Jake) and Ricky Sturm (Insa); his siblings' children, David Ray Jr. "Buba", Joseph Michael Esqueda, Michael Joseph Nishikawa, Katie Esqueda, Emily Nishikawa, Madison Magill and Ashley Niekamp; and his great-nephews, Tanner Ray and Hunter Ray.
