With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Chumney (Stephenville, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 21, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Newsom and Cora Mildred Newsom (Williams); her husband Carl Chumney; and her brothers, Billy Newsom and Charles Newsom.
She is survived by: her daughters, Karleece Nowlin of Fort Worth, Valiene Bullinger (Dale) of Haskell and LaNell Whitaker (Steve) of Hart, Texas; her grandchildren, Julie, Kyle Holloway of Pilot Point, Kelly Reesor of Gainesville, Ross Bullinger, Tracy of Rochester, Whit, Kaimi Whitaker of Lubbock, Will, Hannah Whitaker of Shallowater, Brooke Bullinger of Haskell and Mikala Whitaker of Braselton, Georgia; her great grandchildren, Molly Holloway, Caleb Holloway, Grant Reesor, Wriggs Whitaker, Wren Whitaker and Riley Whitaker; her sister Sue Kopp (Larry) of Pottsville, Texas; and her sister-in-law Jeanne Tallent of Moody, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
