He was predeceased by : his wife Lorene Peterek; and his daughter Mary Jane Benavides. He is survived by : his sons, David Martin (Marianne), Kenneth Martin and John Martin (Jennifer); his son-in-law Michael Benavides; his grandsons, Travis Benavides (Amanda), Xavier Martin and Benedict Martin; and his great grandchild Hailey Benavides.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Finch Funeral Chapel (400 S 4th St, Stockdale, TX 78160). A rosary was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (1201 West St. Mary's St., Stockdale, TX 78160). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church building fund.
