He is survived by: his parents, James Patterson and Mary Jo Patterson; his sister Melisa Patterson Bell; his brother-in-law Terry Bell; his sister Jamie Patterson Holdsworth; his brother-in-law Ricky Holdsworth; his siblings' children, Brandon, Holly Bell, Justin, Maritza Bell and Kelli Jo Holdsworth; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaxon, Liam, Elizabeth and Sadie Bell; his uncle Ford Hooper; and his aunts, Frances Hooper, Linda Hooper, Ann Smith and Lynda Lys.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's memory to a charity of your choice, The Arc of Fort Bend, or Texana Learning Center in Missouri City.
