With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cuba Jean Vaughn (Sulphur Springs, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2025 at the age of 76. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Grubbs and Opal Grubbs (Kinson); her siblings, Richard, Jackie S. Grubbs and Venita Riggs (Grubbs); her son Samuel McCarter; her grandson Harley McCarter; and her daughter-in-law Karen Campbell.
She is survived by: her children, Penny Alkire (David), Royce Campbell and Johnny McCarter (Karen); her grandchildren, Misty Kouba, Tiha King, Aimee Dawn, Jason Alkire, Jeremy Alkire, Joshua Alkire, Kayla Campbell, Kaylee Milbauer, Cherish Sinclair, Johnnie Dean, Joanie Dean, Mark Fanfalone, Jessica Leavitt, Jamye McCarter, Samuel J. McCarter, Bryson McCarter, Hayden Winstead and Joseph Winstead; and her sisters, Linda Hammond of Quinlan and Jeanette Ely (Jack) of Commerce, Texas.. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
