He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ivery and Omergene Sims; his son Tabias Lindley; his brother Danny Sims; and his parents-in-law, L. G. and Shirley Hankins.
He is survived by: his wife Sherri Sims; his children, Derrik Harris (Diana Debase), Chudney Beard (Kawanda), Lance Hankins (Misti), Lakendra Smith (Royce), Monique Roland Lewis (Jerome), Staci Hill (Steven) and Kaci Hankins (D. D. Berry); and his sisters, Shirley Pryor, Barbara Cobb and Linda Hall. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the West Oaks Funeral Home (500 Hillcrest Dr N, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (208 Fuller St, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482). A burial was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at the East Caney Cemetery (401 Co Rd 3345, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482).
