She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Burton Hillis and Frieda Dorothy Mae Friebel; her husband Angus Dwayne Yates; her grandparents, Cullom Lyhugh Hillis, Gertrude Ward Louis, Friedrich "Otto" Friebel and Wilhelmine "Minnie" Neumann Friebel; and her brothers, Henry Lee Hillis, Sr., Alvin "Wade" Hillis, Johney Wayne Hillis and Rodney Wm.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Hillis Willingham of Crockett, Texas and John Leroy Smith; her grandchildren, Adam Ray Vitro, Shawn Lucas Willingham and Jonmichael Orion Smith; her siblings, Joe Roy Hillis, Sr. of Lebanon, Bennie Earl Hillis of Scurry, Cullum O. Hillis of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Ruby Hillis Atkins of Lake Kiowa, Neva Hillis Yarbrough of Cedar Hill, Lennie Hillis Sharrow of Kimball, Dorothy Hillis Shields of Lone Oak, Minnie Hillis Reagor of Vidor, Texas. and Iva Hillis Haren; and her grandson Kevin Michael Vitro.
