“I was sadden when I saw Chief De Leon's notice of passing. I was so grateful to him for protecting my children and I at a chess tournament in Brownsville. The children's father came to the tournament incapacitated wanting to take the children. Your dad was our hero. He resolved the issue without embarrassment to my children and made us safe. Every time I saw him at subsequent tournaments he always asked us how we were doing. He had geinuene compassion and concern. A hero. Laura Means - Hgn.”
