She was predeceased by: her husband Leon; and her children, Sharon Nance and Justin Nickerson. She is survived by: her sister Frankie Zachary (Wichita Falls); her daughters, Carla Nickerson-Adams (Willis) and Danita Nickerson; and her grandchildren, Bianca Petroy, Kristen Torres (José), Sigele Nickerson-Adams, Philip Nickerson (Laura), Bryce Peterson and Reid Nickerson. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, "adopted" children and cherished friends.
