As we bid Charlene Parks farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Charlene Parks is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Parks and Corine Whittenburg Robinson; her husband Fred E. Thompson; and her brother Wilbert Whittenburg. She is survived by: her children, Barron Parks of Temple and Yolanda Randolph of Temple; and her siblings, Willie Whittenburg (Anna) of Cleveland Ohio, Ronald Parks and Anita Kelso of Temple. She is also survived by one grandchild, three great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Branford Dawson Funeral Home Inc. (718 S 7th St, Temple, TX 76504). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greater Zion Temple (808 E Central Ave, Temple, TX 76501). A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery (11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542).
