He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Andrew and Ruby Reynolds Foster; his siblings, Ross Alton, John Franklin Foster and Hilda Mary "Pinky" Foster Edwards; his daughter Stacey Dianne Foster Harrill; and his stepson James R. Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Veva McCoy Foster; his daughter Robyn Rene'e Foster Tacquard; his stepson David Jackson; and his sister Ada Ruth Foster Kollmann. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
