She was predeceased by: her father Marvin Lee Burnett; her husband JW Kirkland; her parent Jessie Bishop; her siblings, W. A. Burnett, Buck Burnett and Rita Madeley; and her son-in-law Timothy Howell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lori Howell and Dena Wilhite (Howard); her grandchildren, Maeghan Roberson (Shelby), Kassie Woolweaver (Michael), Brett Howell (Keelie), Jennifer Dulworth, Kristen Plymier and Katlyn Gilford; and her sisters, Jean Ballard and Linda Harrison. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Memories Cemetery (105 Howell Rd, Elkhart, TX 75839). During the COVID pandemic, she lovingly sewed and donated over 1, 000 washable masks to neighbors, churches, and local businesses.
