She was predeceased by: her parents, Estanislao Gardea and Rosa Maria Gardea. She is survived by: her children, Gilberto Chavarria (Sarah), Jose A. Zavala (Beatriz), David Zavala (Amber) and Maria A. Zavala (Joe). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
