He was predeceased by : his parents, L. C. Jones and Levicy Mitchell Miller; his grandparents, George, Hannah Jones, Rev. Frank and Sadie Mitchell; and his aunts and uncles, Timmie L. Jones, Charlie D. Jones, George G. Jones, Rev. James Mitchell, T. C. Mitchell, John Henry Mitchell, Doyle "Bobby" Mitchell, Clothel T. McCarty, LeAnna Brumley and Ruth L. Barlow.
He is survived by : his children, Meosha Winfrey (Paul) of Beaumont, Texas and James Renard Powers (LaTonya); his siblings, Lee Charles Jones of Woodville, Texas, David Wayne Jones of Woodville, Texas, Betty M. Jones Butler of Woodville, Texas and Leona "Sue" Miller of Woodville, Texas; his uncle Hobby D. Jones of Jefferson, Texas; his aunts, Juanita Gray of Woodville, Texas and Minnie A. Mack of Woodville, Texas; and his close friends, John A. Gray, Richard Taylor, Harvester Hadnot, Dustin Barlow and Hattie Fowler. He is also survived by grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
