She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Merritt and Elizabeth Merritt; and her siblings, Cleo Merritt, Lawson Merritt, Morris Merritt, Homer Merritt, Ray Merritt, Eldon Merritt, Nellie Hedger, Lois Fox and Earline Stringer.
She is survived by: her children, Doyle Gandy (Jayne) of Tyler, TX and Gwenitta Swinney (David) of Arp; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Wayne Keller), Mitzi Abernathy of Tyler, Melissa (Jeremy Mullens), Will (Monica Gandy), Stacie (Mark Everett), Julie Swinney of Arp and Matthew (Jana Swinney); and her great grandchildren, Bryce Everett, Travis Abernathy, Tucker Abernathy, Junah Mullens, Seth Keller and Kyler Keller. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
