He was predeceased by : his parents, James Walter Love Sr. and Ada Esterwood Love; his wife Mary; and his daughter Brenda. He is survived by : his son Stephen; his grandson Daniel; and his children, Tiffany and Kyle.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home (215 E Front St, Tyler, TX 75702). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Bascom Cemetery.
