She was predeceased by: her son Joshua Brandon Wilcox; her brother Tracy Elrod; and her father Melvin Elrod. She is survived by: her husband Ross Lloyd Canant; her mother Mary Jo Elrod; her granddaughter Ryleigh Jordan Serna (Jordan); her daughter Lindsey Canant; her brother Wyman Elrod; her sibling's children, Travis Elrod and Traci Murillo (David); her great-niece Grace Ann; her great-nephews, Jacob and Andres; her stepdaughters, Laura Atherton and Melissa Burns; her cousin Bunco; and her friend Bunco.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home (1011 E 1st St, Tyler, TX 75701). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
If desired, memorials can be made to any charity of your choice, or to those close to Melanie, including the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
