He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Melton Wied; his children, Barbara Cassle (Zachary), Monty Wied (Becky) and Randall Wied (Kim); his brother Robert Wied; his sister-in-law Rosemary Wied; and his grandchildren, Dawn Stewart (Charlie), Dana Smith (Denton), Darla Sellers (Michael), Jared Wied (Aimee), Dustin Wied (Haley), Kasen Wied (Claire) and Kameron Wied. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church in James's memory.
