It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daphne Lewis of Vernon, Texas, who passed away on February 8, 2022, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Emmitt Gotcher and Kathleen Gotcher (Pierce); her former life partner Jonas Short Sr.; her daughter Cheree Short; and her sister Eddie Maines.

She is survived by : her husband David Lewis; her children, Amanda Wilborn (Zak Isom) of Pittsburg, Jonas Wade Short Jr. (Hillary) of Lindale, Samantha Short of Mount Vernon and Donald Short (Lisa) of Azel; and her siblings, Emmitt Gotcher, Lucy Taylor, Lorica Smithey and Julie Gotcher-Branson. She is also survived by ten grandchildren.
