He was predeceased by : his father Casamiro V. Garza; his stepfather Pete G. Cantu; and his stepbrother Charles W. Cantu. He is survived by : his wife Anna Garza; his mother Lonnie Cantu; his children, Malarie Melchor (Luis), Edward Lee Garza (Madison), Megan Farar and Brooke Garza; and his siblings, Ernest Garza (Porfiria), Chris Cantu (Hazel) and Cindy Cantu Sebesta (Mark). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oak Park Memorial. A prayer was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
