He is survived by: his children, Mary Jane Zertuche (Rolando), Cynthia Torres (Jose), Alice Hernandez (Albert), Genevive Dueñez (Demitrio), Joe Jr. Huerta (Sylvia) and Gilbert Huerta (Irene); and his siblings, Mike Benitez, Robert Benitez, Mary Ann Valdez, Raymond Valdez, Trinie Garcia, Bennie Huerta, Chris Huerta (Amy), Janie Rodriguez, Jessie Huerta (Imelda), Frank Huerta and Rosemary Huerta.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Grace Funeral Home - Victoria (2401 Houston Hwy, Victoria, TX 77901). A rosary was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Grace Funeral Home (2401 Houston Hwy, Victoria, TX 77901). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (208 W River St, Victoria, TX 77901). A burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at the Wood Hi Cemetery (5721 FM1686, Victoria, TX 77905).
