She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clarence Oscar Thomas and Rubye McMickle Thomas; her husband James Laing; her brothers, Joe "Sonny" Thomas and Clarence Thomas; her children, Shelia Atkinson of Beaumont, TX, Michele Burks (Robert) of South Carolina and Gene Hibdon Jr. (Geneva) of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Ashley Landrum, Aaron Atkinson, Mallori Heyward, Michael Burks and Travis Hibdon; and her sister Audrey Hoyack (Frank) of San Antonio.
