She was predeceased by : her parents, Mansel Elder and Florence Elder; her siblings, Mansel William Elder (Billy) and Maurine Frances Elder Scholtz (Renee); and her son James Vernon Bowen.

She is survived by : her husband Warren Bowen; her children, Larry Bowen, Elizabeth Hernandez (Jesse) and Brenda Van Shellenbeck (Karl); and her grandchildren, Michael Shellenbeck, Jonathan Van Shellenbeck, Eric, Paul, Carmen and Sarah Hernandez.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to: The Marbridge Villa, P.O. Box 2250, Manchaca, Texas 78652, where her precious son, Larry has resided for 4 years.

“My Dad, Foy Shaddox, and your Dad, Warren, worked together at Hicks Co. for years. Our families were friends. I “babysat” Larry, Beth, and Brenda while your Mom visited a neighbor. I was probably 10 yrs. old. When my Mom died in 2008, your Dad was at the funeral, and I immediately recognized him. It brought instant tears to my eyes. I missed knowing your Mom had passed, or I would have been there. I have loving memories of your family. Linda Shaddox Massey”
