He was predeceased by : his parents, Joe McClain and Marie McClain; his siblings, Henry, Buddy, Marvin, Herman, David McClain, Doris Costlow and Martha Hice; and his close friend Kenneth Butner.

He is survived by : his daughters, Angie, Amy, Lena McClain and Kelli Reed (Craig); his grandchildren, Katlyn, Ty (Nikkea), Little Joe (Nina), Markes, Dustin (Kendall), Tori McClain, Kalie, Caislea and Karlyn Reed; and his great grandchildren, Keelyn, Harper, Scarlett and Christopher McClain. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
