Though Hattie Jo may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Jones and Trealy Jones; her husband Bill McCowan (Bill); her stepdaughter Barbara Poole; and her daughter-in-law Terri McCowan.

She is survived by: her children, William McCowan (Billy), Judy Rateliff (Maurice), Charles McCowan (Kathy) and Anna McCowan. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8, great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Laurel Land Funeral Home (6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
