It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Suzanne Vick Golladay (Waxahachie, Texas), born in England, Arkansas, who passed away on June 28, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Suzanne Vick Golladay, 85, of Waxahachie, TX passed away on June 28, 2021 from
complications following hip surgery.
On Friday, July 2, there will be a Visitation at 1:00 and the Funeral Service will
begin at 2:00 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 4300 W. Park Blvd. Plano, TX 75093.
Tracey Davenport, Sr. Pastor will officiate.
Suzanne was born in England, AR on December 19, 1935. In 1953 she was
crowned Miss White River and graduated Valedictorian from England High School.
She graduated with a BS in Costume Design and Fashion Illustration in 1956 from
Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX.
Her love for learning and higher education was a lifetime pursuit and a
contributing factor to her success and longevity in the world of advertising.
Suzanne’s amazing work ethic, brilliant creative mind and dogged determination
contributed to her success in a man’s world. She strived to achieve a better future
with equality for women in the workplace. Her client list included some
prominent names like Levine’s, Zale’s, JCPenney, Media Graphics, Sanger Harris,
Dollar General and Morgan Spas. She continued to work long past retirement age
and refused to let technology leave her behind.
Suzanne’s twelve year marriage to Charles Stanley Golladay was blessed with
three beautiful boys. Suzanne worked hard to provide for her sons and did her
very best as a single Mom in an era when that lifestyle was frowned upon. The
boys brought much pride and eventually great joy with daughters-in-law,
grandkids and great grands to love!
Suzanne was interested in genealogy and preserving the past through scanning
and restoring photos. Cuddling with the cats was a high priority! Rapt attention to
social media kept her young and in touch with family, friends and co-workers and
helped advocate for pets needing homes. As a 40 year member of Grace
Presbyterian Church, Suzanne’s love for the Lord brings comfort to her family that
she is resting safely in God’s arms, leaving the weight of the world behind.
Suzanne is survived by her twin sons and their wives, Kevin & Christine Golladay of
Rowlett, Chris and Cathy Golladay of Waxahachie, grandchildren, Kristen Morris
of Colorado Springs, CO, Ashley Golladay & Aron Rasor of Waxahachie, TX, Kristen
Wallace of Shreveport, LA, Kaden Golladay of Rowlett, great grandsons, Kaylan &
Kai Morris of Colorado Springs, CO, her brother & sister-in-law, Neil Dow Vick Jr &
Lynn Vick of Benton AR, and their children, Neil Dow Vick, III and Hilary Vick Walsh
& husband Dr. Donald Walsh and their children Hayden, Lochlan, and Barrett.
Ms. Golladay is preceded in death by her parents Neil Dow Vick, Sr. & Mary Vick
of England, AR and her son, Kyle Golladay of Winter Park, FL.
