It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Aubrey Gibbins Jr. of Weatherford, Texas, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth A. Gibbins Sr. and Irene Duncan; his stepfather Walter Duncan; his brother Richard L. Gibbins (Ken); his former life partner Patricia Kennedy; his father-in-law Wilson Ames; and his nephews, Timothy Honsinger and Brandon Ames.

He is survived by : his wife Melinda G. Ames-Gibbins; his children, Hud S. Gibbins of Houston, Romy L. Sears of Fort Worth, Heather Hatfield (Steve) of Austin and K. W. Gibbins (Toni) of Aledo; his grandchildren, Heylee Sears (Cole), Reese Sears (Kara), Jude Gibbins, Julian Gibbins of Houston and Ashton Fulton of Austin; his great grandchildren, Weston Herington and Shepard Herington of Weatherford; his siblings, Olga Lyons of Fort Worth and Lynn Gibbins of Weatherford; his mother-in-law Ruby Ames of Weatherford; his brothers-in-law, Anthony Ames (Danielle) of Weatherford and Randall Ames of Weatherford; his nieces, Yvette Lyons of Fort Worth, Tara Biscardi (Zakk) of Mineral Wells, Amy Gibbins of Granbury and April Gibbins May of Lantana; and his nephew Samuel Ames of Weatherford. He is also survived by many cousins, friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel (913 N Elm St, Weatherford, TX 76086).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Vietnam War Museum in Mineral Wells, Texas (https://secure.qgiv.com) or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
