He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Yates and Emma Yates (Diamond); his wife Georgia Yates; his brother Noble Yates; and his granddaughter Faith Yates.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel J. Yates (Rhonda) and Stephen A. Yates (Tammy); his grandchildren, Brandon Yates (Rachel), Kelley Yates, Shawn Harrington, Tylere Yates (Jessica), Ashlee Yates, Katrina Yates and Noah Anderson; and his brother Jim Yates (Cheryl). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services (913 N Elm St, Weatherford, TX 76086). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the North Side Baptist Church (910 N Main St, Weatherford, TX 76086). A burial was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Hill Cemetery.
