It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oleta Fay Burris of Wellman, Texas, born in Bailey, Texas, who passed away on May 23, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Preston Hall and Lucille Hall (McGinnis); her husband Bill Burris; her grandson Michael Mercer; her great grandchild Hudson Cheatham; and her brothers, Lawrence Hall (Orene) and Cleo Hall (Leta Mae).

She is survived by : her former life partner W. O. Burris (Bill); her children, Teresa Cheatham (Kenneth), Janice Mercer (Johnny), Jackie Burris (Melanie), Rickie Burris (De'Ann) and Terry Burris (Nancy); and her sister Wanda Layton (J. E.). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials to Calvary Baptist Church, Gideon's International, Lamesa De Dios Emmaus or Enochs Cemetery Association at C/O Wanda Layton, 3140 CR 184, Morton, TX 79346.
