Berneice Nittler Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Berneice Nittler (Weslaco, Texas), born in Electra, Texas, who passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Eckelkamp and Clara Eckelkamp (Mengwasser); her husband Harold "Top" Nittler; and her sister Ida Johnstone. She is survived by: her children, Mark Nittler (Jane), Linda Fasano (Tony) and Luann Walker (John); her brother Jesse Eckelkamp (Patsy); and her grandchildren, Jeffrey Fasano, Christopher Fasano (Courtney), Eric Fasano (Tara), David Nittler (Katee), Patrick Nittler, Steven Nittler, James Walker, Jared Walker, Case Fasano, Gage Fasano, Kai Fasano, Shelby Nittler, Reese Nittler, Josh Nittler, Laney Nittler, Zachary Nittler, Levi Nittler, Daniel Nittler and Luke Nittler. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Highland Memorial Park (6705 FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78596). She attended Mass regularly and, after the onset of COVID, found comfort in receiving Holy Communion at home — a ritual that sustained her spiritually and emotionally.
