She was predeceased by : her husband Glynn Fails; her parents, Roy Thompson and Hattie Thompson; and her brothers, Roy and John Earl "Sonny" Thompson.

She is survived by : her children, Janet Joyner (David) of Lubbock, Gary Fails (Mary) of Sweeny and John Fails of San Antonio; and her grandchildren, Nicholas Hammond (Sarah), Allyson Wall (Dustin), Staci Lewis, Lindsay Steffens (Justin), Orey Fails (Sarah Kaye) and Hayden Fails. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
