He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Sheffield and Jean Sheffield; his wife Josephine'Jody'Sheffield; his brother-in-law Byron Smedley; his great-niece Mallory King; and his great-nephew Rory Sheffield.

He is survived by : his children, Jared Sheffield of Sweeny and Rikki Merchant (Matthew) of West Columbia; his grandchildren, Kyleigh Sheffield, Travis Sheffield, Madilyn Sheffield and Hadlee Merchant; and his siblings, Kathy Smedley and Joey Sheffield (Tina) of Canyon Lake, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
