She was predeceased by: her children, Cornelius Phillips Jr., Walter Lorenzo Phillips and Lisa Darlene Phillips. She is survived by: her husband Charles Sumpter; and her children, David Phillips, Terry Phillips, Melvin Phillips and LaTosca Phillips-Brunner. She is also survived by seven brothers, and six sisters.
