He was predeceased by: his parents, Epifanio Gomez and Juana Mata (Ledesma); his wife Margaret Rivers; and his brother John. He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Reese (Brandon), Dorothy Verden (Roy) and Sharon Seal; his siblings, Joe Mata and Rose Reyna; and his grandchildren, Vanessa Curnutte (Clayton), Christopher Shelby (Rihanna), Justin Shelby and Brianna Reese. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
