She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Stewart and Ruby Stewart; her husband Jake Bates; and her brother Edward Stewart. She is survived by: her sons, David Bates (Ann) of Terrell, James Bates (Kathy) of Terrell, Johnny Bates (Laura) of Wills Point and Carl Bates (Becky) of Terrell; and her grandchildren, Anthony Bates, Mike Bates, Jamie Bates, Jessica Bentley, Jacob Bates, Whitney Kearney and Jason Bates. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
