She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Dock" Minnowtree Laxson and Malie Virginia Burleson-Laxson; her husband Bobby Joe McGowan; her son Michael Edward McGowan; and her brother James Lee Laxson.
She is survived by: her sister Barbara Jean Marshall; her daughters, Shirley Eileen Zaeske (Billie) and Bobbie Elaine Lewis (Kyle); and her grandchildren, Billy Dale Zaeske, Brian Dayton Zaeske, Kyle Michael McGowan, Holly Eve McGowan-Romero (Ben), Joeie Nicole Currin, Ashley Don Thorp-Hockman (Justin), Clayton Gary Thorp and Adam Allen Wallace.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Kingdom Hill Church (24385 I-20, Wills Point, TX 75169). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
