He was predeceased by : his sons, Jaime and Carmelo. He is survived by : his wife Margarita; his children, Gabriel, Pedro, Joaquin, Angel Guadalupe, Leonardo, Maria Del Carmen, Graciela, Soila Flor and Lucero Anay; and his siblings, Raymundo, Guillermo, Lorenzo, Aurelio and Carmela. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Friday, April 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Familia Mejia Ordonez (234 VZ County Road 3443, Myrtle Springs, TX 75169). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St Luke Catholic Church (312 W O'Neal St, Wills Point, TX 75169-2524). A burial was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at the Wilson Chapel Cemetery (200 Chapel Ln, McKinney, TX 75069).
