He was predeceased by : his parents, Cecil Wesley Sherwood and Sarah Alice Wood; and his siblings, Wesley Sherwood, Grady Sherwood, Cecil Sherwood and Faye Sherwood Yates.

He is survived by : his children, Michael Sherwood (LaDonna) and Paula Maxon (Derek); and his brother John Sherwood. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
