He was predeceased by : his mother Krista Adkins; his grandparents, Phillip, Lila Lou Adkins (Mauk) and Marilyn Frances Clifton (Evers); and his aunt Cara Joye Gibson (Adkins).

He is survived by : his father Delbert Adkins; his sister Natalie Hutchings; his niece Violet Hutchings; his grandparents, William and Norma Clifton; and his aunts and uncles, Ruth Clifton, Mark Whitaker, Rita Gaye Walker, Steve Clifton, Douglas, Robin Clifton, Amie and Ryan Brodeur. He is also survived by numerous cousins and many friends.

“I sat across from Jacob for years at Simplifi, I'm incredibly fortunate to have known him. He shared so many stories with me, showed me some of his projects, loaned me books, recommended movies, and generally was just a pleasure to know, interact with, and work with. It seems absurd that a guy with so much to share, would be taken from us at such a young age. But even so, there's also so many memories of him to cherish! I earnestly pray that we will all find comfort during this difficult loss.”
