Shirley Marie Akin Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 19, 2025, at the age of 84, Shirley Marie Akin of Wylie, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father John William Schultz; her husband Thomas Hill Akin; her mother Minnie Isabel Schultz; and her siblings, Ruby Allyne Harvell, Betty Jo Mills, Frances June Deets, Billy Junior Schultz and Theddy Ray Schultz.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Marie Moloney, Vickie Jean Hughey (Gary) and Jeffrey Mark Akin (Melanie); her grandchildren, Emily Clark (Bryan), Joshua Moloney (Jennifer), Matthew Moloney (Haley), Jessica Jordan (AJ), Shane Akin (Jalyn), Katie Provencher (Jacob) and Tyler Hughey; and her sister Patsy Louise Foster. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (508 Masters Ave, Wylie, TX 75098). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Cross Church (100 N First St, Wylie, TX 75098). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Wylie Cemetery (508 Masters Ave, Wylie, TX 75098).
