It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Evelyn Zapalac (Yoakum, Texas), born in Shiner, Texas, who passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Jimmie Knezek and Marie Knezek (Janca); and her brother Edwin Knezek. She is survived by : her husband Louis James Zapalac of Port Lavaca; her children, Katheryn Sanchez of Hallettsville, Cheryl DeLaRosa (Vince) of Port Lavaca, Kenneth Zapalac of Port Lavaca and James Zapalac (Evelyn) of New Braunfels; and her sister Rosalie Janak of Conroe. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
