With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie Leist (Yoakum, Texas), born in Old Ocean, Texas, who passed away on December 9, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Oscar Johnson and Bennie Rhodes Johnson; her children, Martina Buenger and Doug Leist; and her siblings, Ruth Brown, Evelyn Sutton, Effie McKinley, Bennie Lock, Bonnie Rhodes, Harvey Johnson, Dan Johnson and Owen Johnson.

She is survived by : her husband Ralph Leist; her children, Carol Bond, Linda Sutton, Scott Leist, Mike Leist (Renee), Mark Leist and Randy Leist; her grandchildren, Ryan Vera (Kristine), Caitlin Bond, Cody Bond, Catherine Leist, Rebecca Leist, Simone Martin (Christian) and Tess Hickey; and her siblings, Joyce Manley, Maude Arnold, Alfred Johnson (Shawnee) and Lester Johnson. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to Austin Street Baptist Church.
