It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lilia M. Vela (Zapata, Texas), who passed away on April 3, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francisco Martinez and Rebeca Martinez; her husband Gervacio Vela, Jr.; her daughter Minerva; and her great grandchild Arturo Javier Garcia.
She is survived by: her children, Margarita Martinez, Jr. (Fernando), Graciela Gonzalez, Rosario Garza (Hector), Diana Vela, Luis Vela and Rafael Vela (Jessica); her grandchildren, Eva I. Martinez, Fernando Martinez, III (Alma), Tomas Gonzalez, Diego Gonzalez, III (Sara), Gabriel Gonzalez (Lisa), Alberto Gonzalez (Lily), Hector Garza, Jr., Sandra Gutierrez, Jr. (Abelardo), Esteban Garza, Terry Martinez (Ruben), Danny Sandoval (Rose), Virgil Alfaro, Omar D. Alfaro, Luis Angel Vela, Abel Anselmo Rodriguez (Marisol), Rogelio Gervacio Rodriguez (Leslie), Daniela Vela, Dinela Aguilar (James) and Danica Vela; her sisters, Alicia Vidal (Leonel) and Diamantina; and her sister-in-law Idolina. She is also survived by twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
