He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul I. Boynton and Bonnie Felder Boynton; and his son Paul David Boynton. He is survived by: his former wife Susan Sandberg; his wife Sonja Penttila; his daughter Catherine B. Wahe; his sisters, Suzanne B. Meeks, Jean B. Spencer and Marjorie Boynton; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Tousley. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
