He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, David Willard Hess and Elvira Nielsen Hess; his uncle Sam; and his children, Allen Hess (Amy), Marlene Cole (James), David Hess (Marcy) and Larry Hess (Jennie). He was also cherished by four children, nineteen grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren.
