He was predeceased by: his parents, Genaro Martinez and Maria Antonia Dominquez Martinez; his wife Erma Gallegos; and his son Robert "Bob" Martinez Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Carl Martinez (Laura), Steve Martinez, Rachel Sanchez, David Romero, Raymond Martinez and Michael Romero (Angela); and his brother Howard Martinez (Mary). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
