He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Thompson Burton and Leone Risley Burton; his sister Marilyn Burton Hughes; and his brother-in-law Dave Hughes. He is survived by: his former spouse Jonna Mae Conley; his son James Howard Burton; his spouse Maurene Fausett; his children, John Thomas Burton (Peggy), Erin Jean Keenen (Len) and Laurie Ann Royall (Phil); and his stepchildren, Scott Southworth (DeAnna), Robert Southworth (Sherry), Margo Flint, Steven Southworth (Karen), Wendy Hayes and Teri Lyn Southworth.
Tom's sense of humor was an endearing personality trait that outlasted his memories as he suffered with Alzheimer's, often making jokes while receiving medical care.
