She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph E. Thiriot and Ellen M. Thiriot; her husband Jan Farley Peterson of Orem; her siblings, Alice Ann Waite-Hoffman and Jon M. Thiriot (Judy); and her children, Tod Peterson (Ivey), Travis Peterson, Andrea Peterson, Christian Peterson and Emily Gibb (Byron). She was also cherished by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
