He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Christensen Hardman and Viola Annie Brown; and his siblings, Isaac, Bill and Lee.

He is survived by: his wife LaRae Patrick; his children, Bonnie Sewell (Steve), Larry L. Hardman (Denice), Richard Kim Hardman (Peggy), Annette Ostergaard (Roger) and Pam Elkins (Kevin); and his siblings, Don Hardman, LaRae Tranchell and Cleora Forbush. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 33+2 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
